Many thanks to Wrexham supporter, James, for finding the time to answer the following ahead of the weekend’s game.

How Long Have You Supported Wrexham?

About 25 years. I’m not from Wrexham originally so when we moved up here me amd my Dad went to some of the local clubs. There was something special when we went to see Wrexham, just felt right. And not long after we went to the Arsenal game which sealed the deal.

Last Season’s League Finish?

We limped into 11th after being in the lower reaches for most of the season. Was a very dissappointing campaign. After an even worse one the season before. So frightened of losing that we ended up being tamely turned over by he likes of Telford and Welling.

What Do You Think Of Your (New) Manager?

Mills certainly talks the talk. I’ve been impressed by him so far. He’s come in, overhauled the squad and got them playing his way. After the two previous seasons he’s brought the excitement back to the club. There hasnt been a buzz like this around the place since we made the play off final.

Hopes/Expectations This Season?

I always hope for promotion. At the least I hope we make the play offs. My only expectation is that we will play attractive attacking football.

One(s) To Watch?

Dom Vose has been the star so far. Hard to believe he’s only 21. Will definitely play at a higher level before too long. We’ve got a lot of pace in the team and Wes York and Javan Vidal are a threat on the right as Vose and Newton are on the left.

You signed ex-Imp Sean Newton in the summer, off the back of trying his luck in L1 with a short loan spell at Notts County. How has he performed so far?

He’s looked good. Works well with Vose and scored a great free kick against Kidderminster. More than filled the role the departing Neil Ashton played.

You, like I, will have seen Gary Mills sides down the years when he was at both York and Gateshead and to me his style of play, while was quite easy on the eye at times, became incredibly boring. Sideways passes galore, a reluctance to cross the ball and a bit more sideways passing. I also imagine it’s an ok style when winning but incredibly frustrating when you dominate the ball by having 70% of possession, get hit by a set piece and lose 1-0. How have you, and Wrexham fans in general, taken to it?

In general the fans have bought into it. Over the years the ‘great’ Wrexham teams have played attacking football and Mills philosophy is seen as carrying on this tradition. The crowds we’ve had for our home games so far bear tested enter to this. At the tail end of last year we were getting less than 3k, now we are seeing crowds of 5k.

Just over a year on from the Trust takeover, how have things moved forwards/backwards and improved/got worse (if anything)?

Trust ownership is not without its problems. We can’t compete with the very biggest budgets of his league for example, but it’s a great feeling to be in charge of your own destiny. They aren’t without their critics but, for me, the WST are doing a fantastic job. We’ve cleared our debt, improved links wih the community and all while building a competative team. When you consider where we have been over the last decade, it’s sometimes hard to believe we are in such a healthy state.

Thoughts on Lincoln City?

You seem to have made a mixed bag of signings. I was sorry to see Waterfall leave us as he’s a decent defender. If Hearn can get any fitness them him and Rhead are a very good strike force at this level. My biggest doubt is your manager, and although I think you are one of those teams who can probably beat anyone on this league on your day I can’t see anywhere other than mid table for you again.

Score Prediction?

3-1 who to is anyone’s guess.

Random Fact About Your Club?
