How Long Have You Supported Mansfield Town?

My Dad first took me for my sins in 2002 aged 9. I’ve still not fully forgiven him.

Last Season’s League Finish?

12th.

What Do You Think Of Your (New) Manager?

Based on what I’ve seen of his previous teams against us I’m optimistic. His sides have always played good football so I hope he brings that here.

Hopes/Expectations This Season?

Promotion, It has to be with the budget we’ve had this season and the squad we have assembled with it.

One(s) To Watch?

C.J. Hamilton. Frightening pace down the left, A little inconsistent with his final ball but that’s why he’s in L2. He’s improved no end this season though and if he turns up he can be a game changer.

Top 7 Predictions?

Luton Town, Accrington Stanley, Mansfield Town, Wycombe Wanderers, Coventry City, Notts County and Lincoln City.

Bottom 2 Predictions?

Chesterfield and Barnet.

Thoughts On Lincoln City?

Love to beat Lincoln as it’s a local one but always a team I’ve enjoyed to share a division with as they’re usually good games. Also with Green and Rhead being there now and what they achieved for us in the 12/13 season then I wish them luck.

Score Prediction?

2-1 to Mansfield.

Random Fact About Your Club?

We claim to have the oldest professional football ground in the world. Football has been played here since 1861, allegedly anyway. Not seen much evidence of it in the last 10 years!

What are your proudest and most embarrassing moments as a Mansfield Town Supporter?

Winning the Conference title in 2013. I’ve not seen much good in my short time following Mansfield but that season was exciting. Embarrassing? Until you’ve stood in a crowd of around 300 and watched your beloved team get beat 4-0 at Hayes and Yeading I can’t accept you’d understand what embarrassing is.

Do you have a Supporters Trust and what role do they play at the Club?

We have quite a few supporters groups and they all do the same which is raise money for the club through lots of different fund raising events whether it be Race nights or just a good old jolly in the pub. All take transport to away matches too.

Which was your favourite match involving Mansfield Town?

There’s been a few but the best feeling I’ve ever felt after coming out of a game was when we beat Chesterfield 1-0 in our first season back in the league. The one and only time I’ve seen us get one over on them!

Which was your least favourite match involving Mansfield Town?

Hayes and Yeading as mentioned above or Rotherham at home in our relegation season. Dagenham came from 2-0 down on the same day to win 3-2 to all but relegate us and our keeper got lobbed from 45 yards as we lost 1-0.

From the outside, it came across as though Mansfield fans were tolerating Steve Evans rather than accepting of him. Would that be a fair statement?

I’d say so, I was one of the few who liked having him here in fairness. It was at least exciting to go and watch us again and he knew how to get under anybody’s skin. Really disappointed with how he’s handled his whole exit though. I can’t say I wasn’t warned by Crawley, Rotherham and Leeds fans…

Radford agreed a deal to buy Field Mill when he took over and is paying a monthly amount to former Chairman Haslam until that fee has been reached. Is he far off that figure? And is he still going to hand the Stadium over to your Trust / to a supporter run group as he said he would?

The final payment is in March 2019. It has been a few years since he mentioned giving it to the fans so I’m sure that will be a question for his next Q&A.
