Who Do You Support?
Luton Town

How Long Have You Supported Them?

The first game I remember going to was a 1-0 win against our local rivals Watford at Vicarage Road in 1970.

Last Season’s League Finish?

A disappointing 7th but that was better than we deserved after a very poor run from November.

What Do You Think Of Your Manager?

Impressed with what I have seen thus far. He has told us that it will take time to turn us around and I’m happy with that. He watches the same game as the fans watch and tells it as it is.

Hopes/Expectations This Season?

To be in with a shout of the playoffs going into the last few games, if you can get into the playoffs then you never know and I think it’s about time our play off luck changed.

One(s) To Watch?

Alex Lacey, a young centre half that has come through our youth set up and is looking the part alongside the experienced McNulty. We have a couple of young strikers coming through the ranks in Charlie Smith and Zane Banton with the latter looking very impressive for the development squad, hopefully both will get an opportunity this season.

How have the fans taken to John Still? I imagine his favoured style of player isn’t to everyone’s liking?

It’s very mixed at the moment with many not happy with his tactics but I think he will win them round. From the games I have attended this season we have played football in spells but we also go more direct when necessary. I don’t know what a Still style of player is, his signings have been quite varied with attacking players like Whalley and a midfield stopper in Parry. The one thing he has done is given the squad some real strength in depth and looks to have got a good blend between youth and experience.

Still does like to invest in younger players from further down the pyramid. Who has he signed so far that fits that description?

He’s picked up Alex Wall (forward) from Maidenhead, Danny Fitzsimons (defender) and Jim Stevenson (midfield) from Histon and Elliot Justham (goalkeeper) from East Thurrock. Wall and Stevenson have both played in the league this season and I suspect that both Justham and Fitzsimons will get an opportunity. He’s also got a young lad called Paul Benson in from some club called Swindon who looks like he has a bright future.

Like us, you haven’t scored many this season. Is that down to creating few chances, being wasteful etc?

Our problems has been that we haven’t really been creating many opportunities, our final ball has been woeful. That changed a bit against Dartford where we created plenty, scored 3, should have had a penalty and had a goal ruled out for a dubious offside. We definitely have players capable of putting the ball in the back of the net we just need to get the service right.

Top Five Predictions?

In no particular order, Cambridge, FGR, Wrexham, Kidderminster, Grimsby. All of whom we have played in our first 8 games this season.

Bottom Four Predictions?

Hyde, Dartford, Gateshead and Macclesfield.

Thoughts on Lincoln City?

A proper football club that shouldn’t be in the conference. I think it will be a decent season just missing out on the play offs but next season you should be real challengers.

Score Prediction?

It’ll be a tight game and I’m hoping we can build on the win against Dartford but I think it’ll be a 1-1 draw. I have been impressed with Lincolns start to the season and the performance at Barnet shows that you are capable of getting results on the road.

Random Fact About Your Club?

Joe Payne scored 10 goals for us on his League debut against Bristol Rovers in 1936, a league record.
