In this article you will find a Q&A with a Braintree Town supporter ahead of tonight’s game.

How Long Have You Supported Braintree?

I have supported Braintree passionately as a season ticket holder for 3 years and have always gone as often as possible for the past 20 years.

Last Season’s League Finish?

14th.

What Do You Think Of Your (New) Manager?

Our new manager Danny Cowley came from Conference South team Concord Rangers. A Teacher of PE within Essex. He is assisted by his brother Nicky.

Pre-Season has been good. Notable wins over Orient, Southend and Dagenham. And the new manager has freshened the team up with new faces. Including some from Concord. In the dugout it is clear the players have responded to this change. We look fitter have a better playing style and are being encouraged from the side.

Hopes/Expectations This Season?

This season as always the aim is to get to 50 points. And then push on who knows it would be a dream to be challenge for the play-offs.

One(s) To Watch?

With the likes of Simeon Akinola and Dan Sparkes firing on all cylinders, I see them as our main goal threats.

A change in management this season, which seemed a surprise from the outside. Was it a Club decision to go in a different direction?

Not a surprise appointment but welcomed gladly as many fans feel Devonshire became stagnant last season with no plan b. And always blamed injuries.

Has Devonshire taken many players with him to his new Club, and vice versa with your new manager?

Devonshire lived a lot on reputation and he has taken a few players with him most notably Alan Massey in CB.

Have you made improvements with your pitch in the summer? Since we’ve been in the league, Braintree always seem incapable of not having a game called off during the season.

Our pitch is looking like a snooker table new drainage and hopefully no cancellations. But the old Essex clay you never know!

Braintree are still awaiting planning consent for a new ground, which is on hold yet again. This would ensure the future of the pub team from Essex.

We are a small town with a small following but hopefully we can spur the team on. Enjoy the game. COYI!!!!!

Top Five Predictions?

Tranmere
Eastleigh
Wrexham
Plus a surprise

Bottom Four Predictions?

Guiseley
Welling

Thoughts on Lincoln City?

Tonight’s game well Lincoln are our bogey team 2-0 defeat is the norm. But I feel this maybe reversed tonight.

Always seems to be a good physical battle between the teams. And I think only until 10 games in can you assess the team including new players & manager etc.

Lincoln’s aims? Top half and I guess to beat Grimsby.

Score Prediction?

2-0 to Braintree.

Random Fact About Your Club?

Our first ever home league fixture in this league: We beat Grimsby 5-0!!!!!

Town fact: The band the prodigy came from here and still live in the area.
