“Treat the game like any other match.”

Ahead of today’s match at home against Cheltenham Town, we asked our members what three things they think The Imps need to do to pick up all three points.

Here’s what Gratzimp said:

1. Treat the game like any other match, if we go into it thinking “win this and we are up”, will put unnecessary pressure on ourselves and may lead us not playing to our potential. In the same way, treat Cheltenham with respect, they are a dangerous team despite their lowly position.

2. Relax, it slightly contradicts point 1, but it is important for the players AND the fans to be relaxed. Tension on the terraces is transferred onto the pitch. We need to enjoy the day from the moment we enter the ground, to the final whistle. Which means not getting on the player’s backs if things aren’t going our way after 60 minutes.

3. If we are winning 2-0 and we get a penalty, bring on Rheady and let him have the chance to get his 50. Would be fantastic. But otherwise where possible play the same team as at MK Dons. Should we win we can use the final few games for the fringe players to be part of the promotion winning experience where it matters on the pitch. It will also allow Danny and Nicky Cowley a good look at them, to see if they are League One material, whilst giving our regulars a much need break.
