Three Things We Learned Against Forest Green Rovers

Following Saturday’s 2-1 win at home against Forest Green Rovers in Sky Bet League Two, we asked our members what three things they learned from the match.

Here’s what Jamesimp said:

1. If we’re going to introduce Frecklington into the mix again we need to get someone to play high up the pitch alongside Akinde. Anderson and Andrade play too wide to get on the end of his knockdowns which leaves him isolated and easier to deal with.

2. We work incredibly hard without the ball, FGR passed it from one side of the pitch to other with little success, we kept getting players behind the ball and kept them playing in the areas that were not dangerous, passing it around their own defence and midfield without breaking us down that easily.

3. We have addressed the dip in form, 2 draws and a loss was a real knock to the team but on Saturday we showed real resilience, playing and winning as a team on and off the pitch. As Danny said on Saturday, we may not have a game in the league for another 3 weeks now, that win kept the pressure on the chasing pack and psychologically was vital.
