His retaliatory push from a man who was trying to take him to the changing rooms with him showed surprising restraint warranting a yellow only. Let`s face it, Stallard would be wearing a couple of bits of his anatomy as a necklace this evening. Yet as usual we lose a man on top of a ludicrous booking for Beevers from a blind linesman. At least he is probably only looking at a one match ban and going on our ability at set pieces we were lucky Beastie baled early.

Other than a Jamie header and some huffing and puffing we failed to blow the County Court down. Schoey tried introducing Mendez, Amoo and Mayo, we went for it and did dominant a game against a tuff side. Mayo fired wide but it`s nice to have him back. Holmes again looked useful. Mendez is an odd one. Positionally he has the knack and as well as the skill he has pace. He is however a wide man, who does not have that first instinct to shoot like Stallardicus or Jamie. Dani it would seem is one for next year. Oh for Spencer today. He could have got us one or two with that electric pace and shoot on sight instinct. Alas his 90th minute winner was for Bradford today.

A good point today then? If 3 at Darlo can follow it we will certainly still be in the melting pot. Swindon drew today and will probably beat Torquay, but they still have Stockport and some other scares such as Walsall. Walsall struggled to beat Torquay 2-1 yet closed the gap on Hartlepool humbled by Barnet 2-1. Franchise faltered, fried as the cod turned the tables 2-1. Mondays trip to Shrewsbury could see moanin` Martins mob only one ahead of us. The Shrews despite a 1-1 with Wycombe could unseat the chairboys from the playoff seats on Monday. Wycombe are at Grimsby never a palatable place at the best of times.

But lets not count our chickens. Wrexham and Bristol Rovers will be up for it with relegation and playoff issues on the cards. However with all around us facing toughies next Saturday could see us smiling ahead of the Gas clash.
