Imps boss Keith Alexander refused to speak to the press after the 1-1 draw at Wrexham and it was left to coach John Schofield to face the music as Lincoln wasted a great chance of claiming a precious win by conceding an injury-time equaliser to midfielder Mark Jones.

And Schofield claimed Alexander?s absence was due to him holding conference with his some of his side.

?With the week we?ve had the gaffer wants to speak to three of four players before he speaks to the press,? admitted Schofield.

Schofield revealed City?s management team were pleased with the effort from their side, while admitting they should have claimed all three points.

?I thought we worked really hard and scored a good goal and after that we had a few chances to win it,” Schofield continued.

“But we lead them in right at the end and Alan Marriott had no chance with that shot.?

Dragons boss Denis Smith, however, thought his team were worthy of a point, saying ?I think we were in control in the first-half, they had three chances, but they were mostly created by our back passes and free-kicks.

?I thought Mark Jones had a super first-half, but we changed the system in the second and he had less freedom.

?He didn?t play as well, but he scored us a goal I think we deserved.?
