Image for Rotherham United (h): Vote For Your Man of The Match

One of the features that is changing on Vital Lincoln City for the season ahead is our “Man of The Match” thread. I used to add all of the players that had played at least 15 minutes of a match to a poll, but that will no longer be the case. After each match, the Vital Lincoln City members will have 24 hours from the thread being started to post their nominations, then a poll will be started on the front page that everyone will be able to vote on (for 24 hours)!

So, following the 3-0 friendly defeat at home against Championship side Rotherham United, I asked the members to nominate their Man of The Match.

You can vote on the poll below, as well as view some of the comments from the thread on the forum!

Views from the nominations thread:

PerthImp: “Difficult to nominate a MoM for a friendly and nobody really stood out or played that well. Someone said they looked to be pulling out of 50-50s. Don’t know if that’s true but it wouldn’t surprise me. Squad size probably a factor – at HT Millers had 9 players exercising/warming up. We had about 5 or 6, three of which were youngsters. Overall, I’d probably give it to Ethan (with an honourable mention to Danny) as he was a bit more involved. Next week is the acid test.”

Scotimp: “Difficult to nominate anyone because no one had a good 90 minutes in my opinion. Smith was in and out of the game, although he did keep passing backwards; Erhahon was good going forwards but Rotherham repeatedly strolled through our midfield; Sorensen showed his usual enthusiasm but kept giving the ball away.

Mandroiu was probably my choice – he showed his usual intelligent touches and created the chance of the game for House.”

Nobody stood out for me, it was like a knife through butter through the City midfield, Tyler showed he can ghost into good positions so he gets it from me.
