Whatever people say about former Huddersfield and Imp manager Peter Jackson he found us a fantastic keeper. And safe hands Rob Burch has obviously put any thoughts of leaving the Imps to the back of his mind with a statistical season`s best on Saturday. Burch took a yellow for the team and clocked up an outstanding 15 saves against Rochdale beating the 11 against Rotherham at home on 13th February. Burch also denied Barnsley 11 times in the Carling Cup before the Janos error gifted them a late winner.

Of course great goalkeepers like Grotier, Felgate and Burch only really come into their own when their side is up against it. So given our season so far it follows suit that on form Rob blasts through the 200 saves mark at the beginning of March. After a fantastic performance at the league leaders the Imps have still dropped to 21st in the table. You have to feel without another storming season from Rob, who leaves in the summer bar a change of heart, that we might not be quite so fortunate next season.

Thanks Rob would love you to stay but even with The Chessman`s rebuilding plans afoot your destiny is higher in the short term.
