OOH Lincoln Ladies make the short trip to Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow to play the second in a trio of difficult WPL Northern Division matches this week.

Lincoln has already started the week well, beating Curzon Ashton 2-0 at Ashby Avenue last Sunday. And should they gain all three points on Thursday evening they will be well on their way to securing second place in the Northern Division table, with the possibility of going top should Liverpool slip up in either of their next two matches.

“This is a difficult week for us,” admitted OOH Lincoln manager Rod Wilson.

“We put up a bit of a scrappy performance against Curzon on Sunday, however the girls battled well to grind out a 2-0 victory and three vital points off an under-par performance – so I`m not complaining too much.”

“It`s important we concentrate on one match at a time, and come away with the result we want on the day, so I`m pleased with Sunday`s result.”

“However, the whole squad realises we have to raise the bar and start producing good consistent performances if we want to win the League this season – and I want that to start on Thursday.”

“No player should think they are above criticism, and each individual must look to improve dramatically on their performance of last Sunday.”

“If we can do this and hit the ground running on Thursday we should get the result we want – then I`ll concentrate on taking that forward to our next match on Sunday.

“But we will put the future out of our heads on Thursday, and all we will concentrate on is putting up a good performance on that night and getting the result we want – which is a win – against the Owls” he said.
