Views from Brendan Bradley following the 2-1 win away at Plymouth Argyle in League One: “We can bemoan our luck last week but then, this being football, we score an incredibly similar stoppage-time goal ourselves and instead of two draws we get 3 points from 2 games.
Once again, though, we missed two bagfuls of chances. I’d sooner see that, though, than create nothing at all.
Marquis had an excellent debut, Hopperesque! Norton-Cuffy had a storming ten minutes and of course Long did fantastically well, especially considering he had to put up with the throwback crowd behind him (“you’re **** yaaaa, really, what year is it in Devon? They probably think Meat Loaf is top of the pop charts)
To be ultra critical, the Swansea lads were a bit disappointing, but that was another good performance and result against the odds.”

Impish: “I watched the game, we battled really hard, had a couple of bits of luck at times as did the Plymouth side. Marquis took his goal superbly being set up by Scully. Poole was MOM and it was his initial header that knocked the ball back for Max to head the winner. I think we deserved that on the many chances we created.
Fantastic stuff, well deserved and good support heard on iFollow from the Imps in attendance. First win there in 40 years.
Get in!”
mikeosullivan: “Impressive display considering the injuries.
Poole was magnificent with Bramall not far behind. Long was excellent and never looked like it was his league debut. Marquis showed how much we have missed Hopper.
Felt we were a little open in midfield and probably should have played Sanders for Cullen and pushed Fiorini further forward.
4 out of the next 5 at home though, and that worries me. We are only 4 points away from the bottom four, and our home form is pretty appalling.”
Luke Imp: “Excellent result all things considered. Playing teams like Plymouth suits us far more than the Gills/Wycombe/Rotherham’s.
Marquis gave a good interview after the game, worth a listen. Good to hear Griffiths is nothing major, effectively just a check-up on what sounds like an old injury back at WBA to make sure it’s not being aggravated by playing.
By mid-Feb, three weeks away, and forgetting about injury records for a minute, we could have all of Bridcutt, Hopper, Jackson, Walsh, Maguire and Eyoma back. What options to have.”
