“Patience on and off the pitch will be required.”

Ahead of tomorrow’s match at home against Bolton Wanderers in Sky Bet League One, we asked our members what three things they think The Imps need to do to pick up all three points.

Here’s what sedgleyimp said:

1. This is going to sound like the most obvious comment possible but put the ball in the bleedin’ net, please. We played very well in midweek at Portsmouth and in the away game at Peterborough but came away with no points. We have gone over 300 minutes without scoring a goal and in this league that will cause problems for you. Chances need to be created and taken and that is something we’ve not done enough of in the last few weeks.

2. Keep Bruno and Toff on the same wing. Andrade has been playing well irrespective of whether he has been on the left or the right but to my mind, the link-up play he and Toffolo achieve was one of the most threatening aspects of our play and if they are on opposite sides that link-up play is noticeably absent. Teams double up on Bruno but if they have him and Harry to contend with down that flank teams struggle to negate that threat.

3. Take nothing for granted. The team we face on Saturday is not the same Bolton that were having 5 or 6 routinely put past them at the very beginning of the season. Their takeover has enabled them to strengthen with experienced players and it is noticeable that their goals against record since Keith Hill was appointed has dropped massively. Patience on and off the pitch will be required.
