How long have you supported Accrington Stanley?

Ever since they reformed in 1968, my Granddad and Dad were supporters and I lived on Stanley St when I was born so it’s in my blood.

Where did you finish last season?

17th.

What do you think of your manager?

I think he’s one of the best in League One and along with Jimmy Bell and John Doolans, they get the best out of the players.

What are your hopes and expectations for the 2020/21 season?

Well to be honest Stanley fans at the start of the season fans would say staying in League One is a priority but there’s something about this squad that raises those expectations and a playoff spot is not out of the question.

One(s) to watch?

We have a few this season but I’d have to say midfielders Joe Pritchard and Matt Butcher, defender Cameron Burgess and upfront Colby Bishop and Dion Charles.

Which teams you think will finish in the top six in League One?

In no particular order, I would say Lincoln, Hull, Peterborough, Charlton, Portsmouth and Doncaster.

Which teams do you think will finish in the bottom four in League One?

Burton, Bristol Rovers, Northampton, and Swindon.

What are your thoughts on Lincoln City?

Lincoln have been outstanding this season and are the surprise team for a lot of people. I think Michael Appleton has them playing a nice style of football, defensively they are strong and can score, that combination will get you promoted.

What do you think the score will be?

I was surprised to see your home form and you have lost five matches at the LNER Stadium, that gives Stanley some hope. After scoring six against Bristol Rovers, we have struggled but we are creating chances and both Charles and Bishop are due. This is a real test for us and if we play as we did at home against Hull we can win 2-1.

Random fact about your Club?

Accrington Stanley was not a founding member of the Football League in 1888, that was Accrington FC who’s first-ever League match was vs. Everton at Anfield. I’ve won a couple of pints with that piece of trivia.

If you could steal one Lincoln City player for your own team, who would it be and why?

I’d have to say, Jorge Grant, he makes any team play better.

What are your proudest and most embarrassing moments as an Accrington Stanley supporter?

The proudest moment would have to be winning the League Two in 2017/18 and most embarrassing would be the milk advert back in the late eighties, if I had a quid for every time somebody said “exactly” in a scousers accent I’d be a rich man.

Who would you say is your most underrated player?

I would have to say, Seamus Conneely, he’s not flashy, doesn’t score much and plays in front of the back three, but he very rarely makes a mistake.

Do you have a Supporters Trust and what role do they play at the Club?

We do and they do a great job with raising funds for the club and they make it a great match day experience. I may be bias, but they are one of the best. Their last project was a Memorial Garden behind the Clayton End stand.

Which was your favourite match involving Accrington Stanley?

There has been a few but I’d have to say beating Luton away in the Championship season with Billy Kee scoring the winner in injury time, from there we went on to win the League.

Which was your least favourite match involving Accrington Stanley?

That would have to be the 2015/16 season last match of the season when we drew 0-0 against Stevenage and Bristol Rovers scored in injury to take the last automatic promotion spot on goal difference.

Do you have a Former Players Association at Accrington Stanley?

We have a fans Hall of Fame wall in the Home fans area started by the Stanley Trust.

What is the best thing about Accrington?

Has to be the people, they make everyone feel welcome.
