On Thursday evening I attended the third Supporters Group Representatives meeting with the Directors of Lincoln City Football Club. Below you will find the Questions & Answers and also my Meeting Notes.

What is the current situation with the Co-op Bank and does the club have an alternative lined up?

Should be sorted in the next 6 to 8 weeks. The Club will be badly damaged financially once it is finalised. It will be a lot easier if an investor did come in. We do have a Plan B if someone doesn’t invest. No intention of reducing budgets. We have been more speculative this Season than it recent Seasons.

Is there any significant investment coming into the club that will do more than balance a shortfall in this year’s books?

We have got a potential investor and we are close to striking a deal. Hope to have it sorted by end of November.

Is the holding company preventing potential investors investing?

No, both new and potential investors have all asked for their new shares to go in to LCH.

Have the club thought of making midweek games cheaper?

We are looking at making some midweek games cheaper for all groups of supporters, both new and established.

Has the Club thought of reverting to Wednesday evening home midweek games, which was traditionally our normal day for such fixtures? From a personal perspective, it would help me a lot. It could also lead to us gaining more press coverage as there are so few league games played on a Wednesday. This is a serious proposition.

It has not been discussed, however with Champions League also televised on Wednesday’s there would not appear to be too much of an advantage. There would also be the views of the National League to take in to consideration.

Can we have an update on the progress research for funding and a realistic timescale for an announcement?

See previous.

Have the soil tests come back for the proposed new stadium yet?

Very positive. Wouldn’t stop development.

With the team seemingly making a credible promotion bid for the first time, is there a temptation to make some more funds available for the playing side? Is it feasible, in light of the imminent settlement with the Co-op?

If we are in a position to spend a bit of money we will use it if Chris would like to bring someone in.

The Altrincham fixture, pre term but Freshers Week, had free entry for BGU students. Didn’t seem to be well publicised so how many came? Are there any plans for the ‘wider’ student body, HM forces or others to be offered free tickets at future matches, noting that we are away at Chester on non-league day when some clubs have offers for health professionals, league team season ticket holders etc etc.

The take-up was poor mainly due to BGU students still waiting for their SU cards.

There will be some ticket offers between now and Christmas.

I think this has been mentioned before, but when is the decision due on Charles?

Still waiting for the verdict.

Is it possible to reveal roughly what percentage of the price of merchandise goes to the club?

10% margin. However the club also recieives an annual five figure sum on top.

Like many lower/none league clubs we have lost good players for free at the end of their contracts. I know that some good players were signed on 2 year contracts this summer but when will the board and manager look to extend contracts of those who are doing well and due to expire at the end of the season? I think it is important that we are proactive and it sends a good message to the other players that if you work hard and perform you will be rewarded with the security of a contract extension well before the summer.

We are well aware of the need to safeguard those players we may wish to keep and will act in plenty of time.

It’s an old one but how about getting a couple of new tvs for the Co Op concourse. It would improve the match day experience!

We will look in to it.
