Saint Matthew Saunders the patron saint of passing chipped in with an assist to enable Somma`s stunner on Saturday before declaring that he would like to stay at Sincil Bank permanently. Clearly he feels his talents would be better served leaving the Fulham Flock to raise the fallen Imps and said so publicly on Saturday.
Saunders would be a fantastic summer signing and is without doubt the best all round midfielder at our club. The tackling and box to box facets to his game ensure he is never far from the action for the whole 90 minutes, but it is his range of passing that really catches the eye. His saintly premonitions see the through balls that few other do and could make us tick next season if we have the ambition to sign him. Saturday`s deft chip to Somma was sublime something that, bar Oakes, no one at the Imps would think of let alone carry out successfully.
Well played Matt, we`d love to have you, here is to two up front and a functioning four man midfield next season eh?
