Here is the latest with regard to our squad statistics which can of course be found on each player`s page in the squad section. Chris Sutton has been accused of having a cast of thousands using 39 players and handing out a record 25 debuts this season, but in truth his hand has been forced by injury the loan route being his only option for our salvation.
The mercenary method had been criticised though what choice has be had particularly given the board`s stance once the transfer window opened. Quite what the £200,000 Cup run money has been spent on we will doubtless never get an answer to but then this is an article about statistics. The short term crisis management modus operandi at the club this season has however inevitably meant a lot of players have come and gone on short term deals. Indeed cheep loans at a cost of a bit of rent seem to have been his only option bar two bargains from Fulham and Clarke |Keltie from the non league on a short term deal. Looking down the squad, we do have an underlying cast of at best mediocrity chewing up the wage bill, but with 3 decent earners leaving and one on loan allowing Somma to come in is hardly cause for us to rejoice at our boards generosity is it?
