Lincoln City head back towards the capital again this Saturday, to face another tough away day at Kenilworth Road, when Luton Town play host to the Imps. Lincoln will be looking to find their second away win of the season and second in a week, as they look to remain around the play off positions.

After Tuesday’s win the Imps will be full on confidence and with the exception of Adi Yussuf, they should have a full squad to choose from. Boss Simpson may decide to pick the same team for a third game running, so Nick Wright who won a penalty when he came on, but then subsequently missed, will probably still miss out.

Danny Rowe and Luke Foster who haven’t featured in the past two games bar minor roles, will be hoping for larger parts, and may be preferred if any of the squad are struggling to play a third game in a week. The impressive midfield trio of Mo Fofana, Jon Nolan and Alan Power should all retain their places.

Luton have had a mixed start to the campaign and John Stills team currently sit 11th in the Skrill Premier League. However they have been in good form at Kenilworth Road and are yet to be defeated there. Lincoln have also lost 12 of the 19 games they have played at Kenilworth Road. Both teams have been solid in defence and scored few goals this season, so this should be a tight encounter.

Last season the Imps went down to a 3-0 defeat at Luton and 2-1 at Sincil Bank so any positive result will be an improvement on last season. Lincoln have shown in all their games this season that they can compete with anyone at this level, and a win could see them hit the dizzy heights of 3rd and 20 points before Septembers out, something I’m sure most fans wouldn’t have believed was possible six months ago.
