This Tuesday evening sees the Imps take on Tamworth at Sincil Bank. The Imps come into this match on the back of a 2-2 draw away to high flying Nuneaton on Saturday where a late goal from Andy Brown denied the Imps what could have been a very good three points away to the surprise promotion contenders. The two Imps goals on the day came from full back Tom Miller and midfielder John Nolan after Wesley York had given the hosts the lead early on in the match.

Tamworth travel to Sincil bank on the back of a hard thought 1-0 victory over struggling Macclesfield Town. This home victory came courtesy of a goal from Lateef Elford-Alliyu. The striker scored early on as Tamworth held out to secure the points that moved them up to 18th place in the table with 15 points, six behind the Imps after 13 games. Tamworth have been inconsistent this season, they have yet to win two matches in a row and before the win against Macclesfield they were easily beaten 3-1 away to Grimsby Town at Blundell Park.

Tamworth manager Dale Belford will be hoping this form can change at Sincil Bank tomorrow night and he will be looking towards the likes of Baker and Peniket to get the goals, each have three goals apiece so far this season. Darren Byfield could return to the starting line up after being on the bench on Saturday . One player who won`t be involved is former Imp loanee Jake Jones, the winger turned down the Imps in the summer to sign for Tamworth, but he has since struggled and has been sent out on loan to Kings Lynn to get some match practice. Former caretaker manager for the Imps Scott Lindsey is the assistant manager for the Lambs.

The Imps will come into this match with Nick Wright a doubt with a recurring calf injury; he could well be replaced by Rowe in the squad after he has missed out the past few matches due to Injury. Fairhurst could also make a step up from the bench if he can improve his fitness. This is a great chance for the Imps to keep the great start going and prove that it isn`t just a passing run. The squad at the moment looks strong and there are enough players available to keep the side fresh and players competing for their places too.

I think the Imps will come out victorious tomorrow night with a couple of goals to see of the Lambs and climb up towards the play off places once more.
