Views from PerthImp following the 1-0 defeat at home against Cambridge United in League One: “That was coming. We looked tired in the second half. I think the defensive changes caused us to lose that goal at the end. There were a couple of times after the defensive changes were made where we got caught out, missed challenges, and gave away the FK. Think it was mainly the Melbourne change (he isn’t a RB) that cost us. Shame really – other than that we played really well, especially first half. Cullen will be a terrific player I reckon. Just needs two or three games to get into the team’s play and get up to speed. Tough game at Rotherham on Tuesday.”

sedgleyimp: “A kick in the teeth at the end with a sucker punch. Happens. We do concede too many late on though if we are getting nervous.
We would have won that game 4 out of 5 times by the first-half performance”
WellingtonImp: “In terms of result, the good work of the last two games has been undone. But, positives can be taken from this game, with our link up play. Better finishing in their box might have put game beyond doubt, but we lost our way in midfield as the second half progressed and we sought a breakthrough; Cambridge hit us on the break. It’s fustrating, but feel better after this defeat than I did about earlier defeats.”
imps_joe: “Very frustrating. Should have been home and hosed the first half, but an inability to put the ball in the net means you’re not going to get much. Much more even 2nd half after they tightened up and we didn’t exploit the left as we did first half. Unfortunately, my concerns about tiring came true (we need more bodies in). Last 15 minutes Cambridge were in the ascendancy and looked likely to steal the points. Referee gave them nothing most of the game (TJ was lucky) and then he gives a very questionable one leading to thier goal. Don’t want to be too harsh on a makeshift back 4, but we’ve shown again an inability to defend balls in the box. In contrast, our free kicks and corners are dreadful.
Summary, should have been 3 or 4 up at half time and coasted to victory. Unfortunately, we couldn’t score, tired and Cambridge knocked it.”
