Latest pre season game for our girls sees ::

Stockport County (0) v (3) OOH Lincoln Ladies F.C.

Rod Wilson`s Lady Imps put in the strongest performance of their pre-season so far on Wednesday evening, knocking three past Stockport County without reply.

With Lincoln`s week-long intensive preparation under way at Myerscough College in Preston, Wilson`s squad were keen to build on their last two successes against Leicester City Ladies and Radcliffe, while Stockport – who were relegated from the WPL Northern Division last season – wanted to show they hadn`t lost any ground and lay down the gauntlet the for their challenge for promotion from the Northern Combination back into the Women`s Premier League this season.

OOH Lincoln Right-back Leandra Little put the visitors ahead early on from a pin-point accurate free kick into the box – she broke away from her marker and headed the ball powerfully into the back of the net from close range.

Kirsty Richardson then put England international Amanda Barr through on target with a stunning pass, Barr finished from 25 yards with a thunderbolt into the top right hand corner of the net.

With just minutes of the match remaining the referee awarded Lincoln a penalty for a trip-up in the box – new signing sixteen year old Grace John stepped up to the spot and buried the ball confidently to make the final score 3-0 to the Lady Imps.

“I was extremely please with our performance,” said delighted Lady Imps manager Rod Wilson. This was undoubtedly our best performance of the pre-season so far. I believe we are now easily as good as we were last season and I still have players away or injured.

Grace John is an absolute find for us, and as young as she is she`s scaring the life out of opposition defences – she has a great future in football.

I`m pretty much satisfied with how things have gone so far, and this was a very good win against a decent Stockport side. They will be hard to beat in the Combination League this season, so I`m very pleased with this result!” he finished.
