Just who is Kevin Smith?

The spectre of a Dundee and Raith Rovers Hot shot looms on the Imps horizon. With the rumours of two strikers imminent signings coming through are we talking half-baked rumour or the Imps having their Dundee cake and eating it.

With Liam unlikely to Hatch with red and white stripes and the blunting of the Billy Sharpe story; Peter Jackson hasn`t batted an eyelid over securing Adrian Patulea as yet. Certainly after his hols a meeting is set for the Count, who is still eager to seal a deal. Two strikers are still required however and although we still have no clues who the experienced striker is, one name just kept coming up at the recent golf day, a man named Smith.

The downside to an immediate deal might be that Kevin has a broken leg and dislocated ankle, an injury suffered in April. He had surgery on 21st April and had two pins inserted which could keep him out of action until September. However his 1-year contract with Dundee United finishes on June 30th and a free transfer for a born goalscorer may be just too good an opportunity to pass up. The 22 year old scored 18 goals in two loan spells (28 games) for Raith last season and has spells with Leeds and Sunderland behind him. Kevin is in the running for Scottish League 2 player of the season having finished top scorer and winning the title, despite missing the last month of the season.
