The Arsenal youngster is set to be sidelined for up to six months due to a bad ligament injury. With former MK Dons midfielder Luke Howells also out for three weeks the squad is starting to look a little threadbare.

Gavin Hoytes injury is the one that will come as the biggest blow as the on loan full back has made a good contribution to City’s push for League 2 safety. Tilson told the Lincolnshire Echo: ‘It’s a massive blow for him and us as we were getting continuity, Gavin’s now out for a long time.’

Meanwhile Howells is expected to miss the next few weeks having picked up a hamstring injury. With fellow midfielder Clarke Keltie still not recovered from a thigh injury the recall to the starting line up of Mustapha Carayol is almost a certainty.

Carayol impressed on Tuesday night against Oxford and is likely to start out wide as an out and out winger. His crosses led to both the second half own goals by Oxford and more of the same is required of him tomorrow.
