Preview of Lincoln City V Dagenham & Redbridge 16 March 2010 Sincil Bank KO 7.45 p.m. By Neil Gentleman-Hobbs

A new incarnation of the SAS is set to feature against Dagenham and Redbridge at Sincil Bank this evening. Not the big money one that Chris Sutton once featured in at Blackburn alongside Alan Shearer, who made his record breaking £15 million pound Newcastle debut at Sincil Bank. But Sutton alongside a crocked Ian Pearce, another veteran of that Blackburn Premiership winning side spearheaded by the famous S.A.S, will proudly look on as his Fulham connections and Suttons Leeds ones see Davide Somma and Matthew Saunders send shivers down Sincil spines again this evening as the Imps take on the sharpened Daggers. Let`s face it we have no defence and Keith`s memory to do justice to, so let`s go out all guns blazing.

Having waved goodbye to Keith off the field the Imps will endeavour to follow Macclesfield`s lead and defeat higher opposition on it. Dagenham are a great side going forward as are the Imps so we could be set for a goal fest tonight and all for just a fiver if your mate is a season ticket holder. Let`s hope it isn`t all one way traffic though, given the Imps will again have to nurse the walking wounded to even put out a central defensive pair. Perhaps the old adage attack is the best form of defence still holds true but in reality this is a case of on the wing of a prayer with necessity very much the mother of invention. Keith used to say you can never have too many centre halves, indeed big man, but with Saint Matthew and Davide Somma on fire even just the three shots on target again tonight could net us a win. Now 10 points from relegation the confident young Imps have spring as well as Somma in our stride and playing 4-4-2 the Imps in full flow are a pleasure to behold. And all can be yours this evening at the theatre of the absurd for the princely sum of a crisp five pound note??.. if your mate is a season ticket holder.

Pray young up and coming Chessman?????again throw caution to the wind ce soir

The Imps Line Up 4-4-2.

Keith always said you can never have too many centre halves with The Sincil sick bay overwhelmed and the defence anyone`s guess. The gutsy Pearce is out and Moses is 50/50 with Hone and Green both able and willing to come in as they did on Friday. This could give young Enstone a chance on the bench and a good chance of a debut at some point. Hughton and Anderson continue at fullback behind a settled midfield. Lennon should continue on the right though Gilmour threatens, with Kerr and Shane Clark set to nullify the midfield with Saunders ghosting in from the left to wreak havoc again. The Somma and Broughton double act is again set to feature. Out of favour Oakes or Richard Butcher could well be drafted back onto the bench to make up the seven subs. Uncle Tom Cobbly and all are on the sick list though Clark Keltie and Chris Herd are on the way back we will be pleased to hear.

Dagenham 4-4-2
Daggers continue with a keeper and solid back four that ominously for the Imps picks itself. Ex Sincil starlet and influential midfielder Peter Gain is out definitely out, forced to serve the second game of his 2 match suspension for reaching 10 yellow cards. Jon Nurse should replace him as a more out and out left winger as opposed to Montgomery who slips to the bench. Pompey loanee Marlon Pack has extended his loan deal and will partner Yoann Folly in the centre of midfield with Scott and Benson looking to profit from further injuries to the Lincoln defence. John Still is still unable to call on Midfielder Stuart Thurgood, who looks out for the season and defender Will Antwi, who is still nursing a calf strain.
