Ahead of Saturday’s match at home against Blackpool in League One, which will be refereed by Martin Coy, we have done a Q&A with one of their supporters. Thank you to Jane for answering our questions!

QUIZ: How much can you remember from the last time The Imps played Blackpool at Sincil Bank? Have a go at our quiz here or further down the page!

You can discuss what has been said in this article here, or in the comments at the bottom as well as get involved with our pre-match discussion, and many other topics on our 100% Imps forum!

How long have you supported Blackpool?

33 years.

What are your hopes and expectations for the 2023/24 season?

I’m usually full of hope at the start of the season. I’m chuffed to bits and comforted by the return of Critch as Head Coach. Starting the season unbeaten with no goals conceded after five games has only reinforced that hope. It’s usually the play-offs for us (sorry to bring that up) so I’d love to see us win them again this year. We don’t do automatic but who knows if we can strengthen well before the transfer window closes?

What are your views on your manager?

I love him. I was shocked and devastated when he left us for Villa last summer. It just feels like home having him back. We’re very lucky to have him. He’s special and we’re a good fit.

Style of play and tactics – direct/passing/hybrid?

Passing. Keeping possession but often in attacking positions. Then not knowing what to do with it in and around the box.

One(s) to watch now and in the future?

Ooh, I don’t know really. We’re very much a team/squad. We lost a few stand-out players in the summer so I wouldn’t like to say. Ollie Norburn in midfield is getting a lot of plaudits. I haven’t got a favourite since we lost Josh Bowler. In the future, I’m hoping we’ll see more of Rob Apter, a belting little winger.

Random fact about your Club?

We’ve been top of the top division of English football for longer than any other team (we were top when the league was stopped for the war).

Which were your favourite and least favourite matches involving Blackpool?

My favourite possibly battering Forest at their place in the Championship play-offs. Least favourite? Where do I start with that question? There have been so many! Most of last season. Most matches under Nigel Worthington. Relegation at Oldham was painful – my first relegation. Never forgiven Richie Wellens for getting sent off that day.

Which sides do you think will finish in the top six and which do you think will finish in the bottom four?

Who knows? I don’t like to predict. Apart from us top six obviously.

What are your thoughts on Lincoln City?

I love the club and the city. Hopefully, we can go up together this season.

If you could steal one Lincoln City player for your own team, who would it be and why?

I don’t know any of them. They’re just the opposition to me. If you’ve got a prolific striker, that would be good.

What is your prediction for this match?

0-0 because that’s what we do now.

What date did the two sides meet during the 2020/21 season?
