With Reading’s Julian Kelly arriving on loan to cover for the Arsenal fullback who is out with injury Steve Tilson is upbeat about getting Gavin Hoyte on loan until the end of the season.

Hoyte is out with a hamstring injury which will see him out for 3 weeks which will mean he has played his last game for the Imps unless a longer loan spell can be brokered.

The talented right back has certainly been one of the brighter lights at the back for the Imps this season and Tilly is keen to keep the 20 year old at Sincil Bank to help the fight against relegation.

Meanwhile, while Hoyte looks set to miss the rest of his loan spell because of injury, Tilson confirmed he was hoping to extend the defender’s stay.

Talking to the Lincolnshire Echo he said ‘I’ve spoken with Gavin’s agent and ideally I would like to keep him here until the end of the season.’

Suggesting there may be some movement he added: ‘He’s done ever so well for us. It would be great if he does stay and hopefully there will be more news on that soon.’
