Green For Go

Following a sterling performance against Crewe on Saturday, which also saw him score a goal, Paul Green is determined to stake his place in the starting lineup next time around.

With Adam Watts calling in sick in the morning Steve Tilson had no option but to ask the 24 year old Green to stand in at centre back for the Imps. Many think that he is actually better played at CB than his favoured position of right back and he didn’t let Tilly down.

Speaking to BBC Lincolnshire he said: ‘I’ve been itching to play for weeks now. I got my chance and hopefully can keep my place.’

Green scored the opening goal at Gresty Road in what was his first appearance in the team since Aldershot in February.

A former Fans Player of the Season Green expressed his desire to play: ‘I picked up an injury early in the season but I’ve been fit for a while and not playing has been hard.’

There is one thing you get with Paul Green and that is 100% commitment and hopefully he will have done enough to keep his place.

With Julian Kelly returning to Reading it is likely he will and maybe even feature in Steve Tilson’s plans for next season.
