Ahead of today’s match away at Forest Green Rovers in League One, I asked the Vital Lincoln City members what three things they think The Imps need to do to pick up all three points.

We have also published a quiz about the last time the two sides met at The New Lawn, which can be found HERE, and there is also another 15-question quiz at the bottom of this article! Have a go at both and share your results on Twitter if you’re on there!

Here’s what sedgleyimp said (article discussion link):

1. Round pegs in round holes. With both Adam Jackson and Joe Walsh out, and with the added suspension for Lewis Montsma, it leaves us short in the centre of our defence. We have been playing well with the 3/5 at the back with wing-backs and this would be the preferred option. So without all three of those players, reverting to a back four should be the way to go.

2. Play on the front foot from the start. Forest Green have the worst defensive record in League 1 and you’d think not playing with a great deal of confidence at the moment. The new manager boost hasn’t happened for them yet. Teams like this, on the kind of run they are on will fold if you get at them from the kick-off. So be up for it and at it from the first whistle. Don’t allow them to settle.

3. Ensure the lone striker has the necessary support. We can still have a tendency to leave our striker isolated on occasions. The win at Accrington was very different with that support coming in droves from the middle of the park and the wide attackers. That will be essential on Saturday. Forest Green may concede quite a lot of goals, but the majority of their heavy defeats have been on the road. You can’t expect to get the win if you have one player foraging away on his own. With the support of others, we will get very good chances and have an excellent chance of all three points.

In November 2016 Forest Green Rovers hosted the Imps who trailed by 9 points. What was the final score?
