Tough test for Loti and the fellowship of the Bank.

City set off on the road tomorrow, for their latest of the pre-season friendlies.
This time Leeds is their destination and Farsley Celtic the opposition.

Lincoln have never faced Farsley in a competative match and I personally can’t remember any unnofficial fixtures before either.

The Imps can be sure of a tough work out in this one.

By tomorrow, the ‘Celts’ will have already taken on four Football League sides in July. They have:

Drawn 0 v 0 with Port Vale.

Won 2 v 0 against a strong Sheffield United side.

Beaten a full strength Bradford city 3 v 1

And play Grimsby Town tonight (friday 7.45 K O).

Take your nosegays, the smell of fish may linger.

Peter the Great has stated he will give most of the first team pool a work out, with the exception of midfield dynamo Lee Frecklington, who has gone down with a viral infection, (better to get that out of the way now ).

Farsley expect to parade their full strength squad.

Getting there :
Farsley is sandwiched between Leeds and Bradford approximately 1 mile from the junction of the Leeds Outer Ring Road (A6110) and the A647 towards Bradford.

At the junction, take the B647 towards Leeds, passing the police station on the left hand side. At New Street ( the junction cornered by the white wharehouse) turn left. Newlands is approximately 300 yards on the right. Throstle Nest is situated at the end of Newlands with parking available outside the ground.

By Rail:

New Pudsey station, on the Cross Pennine Line, is a ten minute walk away from Throstle Nest. When leaving the station follow the station road to the junction and turn right. Pass the police stattion on the left and follow the directions above. Trains leave Leeds and Bradford approximately every 15 minutes.

By Bus:

Farsley is situated on a number of bus routes. For example:
From Leeds/Bradford: 508, 72, X11 stopping at “Tradex” on Stannigley Road, or 16 16a via Bramley
From Outer Ringroad (Headingley, Horsforth): 81,81A
From Pudsey: 8,9,81,81A

In other news :

LOTI has acknowledges there will be a new face in the ranks sometime next week, with the much discussed and rumoured likely new ‘powerhouse striker’, added to the first team squad.
