Ahead of tomorrow’s match versus Fleetwood Town at Highbury Stadium in League One, which will be refereed by Tom Reeves, we have done a Q&A with one of their supporters. Thank you to Rick for answering our questions!

QUIZ: How much can you remember last season’s match between Fleetwood Town and Lincoln City at Highbury Stadium? Have a go at the quiz at the bottom of the page!

You can discuss what has been said in this article here, or in the comments section at the bottom, as well as get involved with the pre-match discussion on the forum!

How long have you supported Fleetwood Town?

About 14 years.

What are your hopes and expectations for the 2023/24 season?

Before the season started I had very high expectations after a 13th place finish last season and I believe the squad has strengthened, however, after our start, I’ll take survival with a hope nearer the middle than the bottom.

What do you think of your manager?

Early days. From people who have seen Lee on the training ground, nothing but good vibes, and despite the last result he does seem to be steadying the ship.

Style of play and tactics – direct/passing/hybrid?

I would say a passing tactic that sometimes is far too much, especially in front of goal.

One(s) to watch now and in the future?

100% player at the moment is young Junior Quitirna from Waterford in Ireland. A very exciting prospect to watch.

Random fact about your Club?

Having played in seven divisions for Fleetwood through the course of six promotions, Nathan Pond was recognised by Guinness as holding the world record for appearing in the most different divisions with a single football club.

Which were your favourite and least favourite matches involving Fleetwood Town?

My favourite was finally beating Blackpool later that season at home on 27 October 2018 in a 3-2 thriller.

My least favourite was definitely Blackpool v Fleetwood Town, 14 April 2018, We were looking at a famous victory at their ground with a late Wes Burn goal (75) only for Blackpool to score in the 88th and 90th.

Having got within 10 miles of the ground before the game was called off a couple of seasons back, how’s the pitch holding up with storm Babette striking this week?

Absolutely fine. The standard of the pitch is excellent.

Which sides do you think will finish in the top six and which will finish in the bottom four?

I really couldn’t say at the moment. Pompey look they could finally find their way out of the division, and I was very impressed with Oxford. I’ll go Barnsley to join them with another. I think I’ll take the 5th on relegation because if I didn’t include us it would look like Fleetwood tinted glasses and just to name Cheltenham looks lazy.

What are your thoughts on Lincoln City?

Solid team with good results this season against notably Wycombe and Blackpool.

What is your prediction for this match?

Very tricky one. I was very confident before our last game against Wycombe as thought we turned the corner. Praying that was a blip and with a couple of recent losses from the Imps, I’ll go (hope) for a 2-1 Cod Victory.
