Derby County host Lincoln City at Pride Park in the EFL Trophy this evening, with a kick-off time of 19:00.

Referee: Sebastian Stockbridge.
Assistants Referees: Christopher Husband & Steve Durnall.
Fourth Official: Mark Jones.

You can discuss this refereeing appointment here, as well as get involved with tonight’s Derby County v Lincoln City Match Thread.

This will be only his second time in charge of a match involving Derby County and his thirteenth time in charge of a match involving Lincoln City.

The only match he has overseen for tonight’s hosts was their 2-0 defeat at home to Fleetwood Town last season when he showed 5 yellow cards, in front of a crowd of 25,476 at Pride Park.

His last three Lincoln City matches:

28/02/23: Milton Keynes Dons (h – L1): 1-1 (Y: 3, R: 0)
08/01/22: Oxford United (h – L1): 2-0 (Y: 0, R: 1)
26/10/21: Wigan Athletic (a – L1): 1-2 (Y: 5, R: 0)

He received an average rating of 7 following the 1-1 draw against Milton Keynes Dons at Sincil Bank last season. Some of the comments can be found below:

sedgleyimp: “Not a difficult game to ref in all honesty bar that injury time fracas which seemed much ado about nothing.

I’ll give him a slightly above par of 6.5.”

Red Wimp “Random fact I gleaned from the programme, it was one of the assistant’s last games and he requested it to be at Lincoln as that’s where his first game was. He led the teams out.

Wonder if he was the one who raised his flag for offisde but Mr Stocksbridge played advantage which lead to our goal (maybe not apparent on Ifollow?). So that was a good decision. Was a bit fussy in his free kicks but there was hardly a foul n the game in keeping with the general tenure of the match. Better than average 7.”

Eweimps: “Few complaints from me and played a good advantage for our goal. 7/10.”

Seb Stockbridge oversaw a total of 34 matches during the 2022/23 season, showing 103 yellow cards and 5 red cards. He was just a little card happy in the League Two encounter between Carlisle United and Salford City (2-3) when he showed 7 yellow cards and 1 red card.

So far this season, Stockbridge has refereed 6 matches, showing 30 yellow cards and 1 red card. 8 of his yellow cards this season came in the last match he refereed on the 29th August at Vale Park, as Port Vale hosted Crewe Alexandra in the League Cup.
