Lincolns new away kit was unveiled and to my surprise was in fact very nice, although the white shirts with red trim will not be available until September i will certainly be buying mine!
To the game…Mansfield had the ‘really early’ mental advantage after winning a free-kick within seconds however they thrown away the chance to do anything dangerous with it and ending with a goal kick to City. Marriott kicked long and accurate with the balling falling to Forrester [I think it was!] who played a through ball for Dodds to poke home with only a minute and a half on the clock.
Ex-Huddersfield star McAliskey was proving lively upfront and on 13 minutes won a corner from Moses, the resulting corner was headed clear by Brown.
On the 34 minute-mark Mansfield were awarded a penalty after Green shoved Michael Boulding who brushed himself down and scored the resulting penalty. A minute and a half later N’Guessan fount himself with a chance and slotted home via a deflection off Mcintosh.
HT 1-1
The Imps dominance paid when Stallard’s shot went in off the post on 53 minutes. Green later had a header cleared off the line. Mansfield piled on the pressure in the 3 minutes of injury time with 2 corners however neither beard and fruit and the Imps registered there first points of the campaign!
