Following Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw away at Charlton Athletic in League One, I asked the Vital Lincoln City members what three things they learnt from the match.

You can discuss what has been said in this article HERE!

Here’s what Hitherimp said:

1. Lukas Jensen is maturing into a fine keeper as his confidence grows. He’s a lot busier, happier to come for crosses and high balls and is more vocal marshalling his lines. And, thank goodness, the wayward kicking is now only an occasional issue!

2. I can see why Michael Skubala wants more experienced players in the back line and the midfield – we really missed that last night with Jacko, Hamilton and McGrandles not available. If we have those solid leaders who can read a game well and give steadiness and calm heads as well as their own prodigious skills, it allows the flair players and the youngsters space to be expansive and creative. Without them, the structure was breaking down on occasions and there was no-one to quickly reimpose order. Paudie is still young to be captain and has a lot to learn: he benefits from Jacko alongside him and needs a cool head to balance his impulsiveness.

3. The squad were, as a man, going for every ball and every tackle and putting in some truly lung-busting runs to deny Charlton time after time and to look for openings. The commitment and team ethos is really showing through – the results are starting to come and, with a bit more time on the training ground to refine the skills and partnerships, this will truly be a squad to contend with for the run-in.
