Marc Edwards has been the man in the middle for 3 matches involving Lincoln City:

12/10/19: Peterborough United 2-0 Lincoln City (League One) – 5 yellow cards and 1 red card
27/09/20: Lincoln City 2-0 Charlton Athletic (League One) – 7 yellow cards
10/04/21: Lincoln City 2-2 Blackpool (League One) – 4 yellow cards

TOTALS: Matches: 3 Yellow Cards: 16 Red Cards: 1

He received an average rating of 4.14 following the 2-2 draw at home against Blackpool last season. Some of the comments can be found below:

Woodis: “ 3. Wildly inconsistent. Seemed a Lincoln foul was a yellow but the same thing by Blackpool went unpunished. Foul on McGrandles for the first goal, and one on Morton for the second. Gave Morton nothing all game even went taken out off the ball. A poor performance from a referee who did much better earlier in the season.”

Scotimp: “ Mr Edwards gave a lot of soft fouls, a couple of soft yellow cards, and was easily conned by any player tumbling to the pitch with a yelp. I find it hard to believe he booked four of our players in what was essentially a clean game; on that basis, he needed to apply the same rules to both sides, and he did not. He also appeared unsure over which team should be given a throw-in on various occasions.

In other words, a pretty bog-standard performance by a referee. 4.5.”

PerthImp: “ 4 – very inconsistent – protected Blackpool but punished our guys, especially Morton. (As for the long Blackpool throw in the last few minutes (prior to TJ’s ‘handball’), the Lino failed to spot that the guy taking the throw-in had both feet a foot over the line as he released the ball, yet wasn’t penalised.)”

Marc Edwards: 2021/22 Stats:

21/08/21: Rotherham United 0-2 Sheffield Wednesday (League One) – 5 yellow cards
24/08/21: Stoke City 2-0 Doncaster Rovers (EFL Cup) – 3 yellow cards
31/08/21: Wigan Athletic 0-0 Wolverhampton Wanderers U21s (EFL Trophy) – 3 yellow cards
04/09/21: Port Vale 2-3 Rochdale (League Two) – 2 yellow cards
11/09/21: Milton Keynes Dons 1-0 Portsmouth (League One) – 3 yellow cards
25/09/21: Morecambe 3-3 Accrington Stanley (League One) – 2 yellow cards and 1 red card
02/10/21: Bolton Wanderers 2-1 Shrewsbury Town (League One) – 2 yellow cards
