Midfielder Simon Heslop joins the Imps on a weeks trial and will feature in the reserve match on Wednesday.

His career to date:

In 2005, he had a loan spell with Kidderminster Harriers playing 22 league games and scoring once.

On November 16, 2006, Heslop joined Conference National side Tamworth on a one month loan. He made his debut for the Staffordshire club two days later against Woking, in which The Lambs won the game 3-1.

After extending his loan deal with the Staffordshire club, Heslop returned to Barnsley following the of the National Conference season. He made his first appearance as a substitute for The Tykes against West Bromwich Albion in the 7-0 drubbing.

He was again loaned to a Conference club in September 2007, this time Northwich Victoria, then the following month he was loaned to Halifax Town.

On 2 August 2008, Grimsby Town agreed with Barnsley to join Grimsby on a initial three month loan until 4 November, with a view to a permanent move, but due to a new manager he was sent back a week early.

Following the completion of his three months, Heslop returned to Oakwell after not fitting into newly appointed manager Mike Newell’s plans, thus failing to earn a permanent deal.
