Ahead of tomorrow’s match at Sincil Bank versus Barnsley in League One, which will be refereed by Ross Joyce, we take a look at some of the pre-match discussion on the forum as well as share our quiz about last season’s match at home versus Barnsley. Just how much can you remember about it? Can you get 8 out of 8? If you’re on X (Twitter), remember to share your score using the button on the results page! The quiz can be found HERE (opens in a new tab) or below the pre-match discussion!

Pre-match discussion:

sedgleyimp: The loss of Hamilton is a blow, but also might give Skubala the chance to go to what is perceived to be his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation.

Assuming that none of the injured players will be available (Brown was I think ill on Tuesday so should be available) I’d go something like this…

Jensen
Eyoma – Mitchell – Jackson – Roughan
Sorensen – Erhahon
Shodipo – Mandroiu – Duffy
Makama

Subs: Wright, Burroughs, Smith, Vale, Adelakun, Brown, Okewoye.”

Chesterimp: “Who’d be a young footballer? After Saturday’s match, Makama was barely good enough for a loan into the NLN.

After Tuesday’s, he’s the preferred starting striker for most preferred line-ups on this thread.

I’d be inclined to keep Jovon on the bench for another 30-minute cameo to see if he can sustain Tuesday’s performance and help win the match again.

Probably also too soon to get adventurous with formation, maybe something for after the empty FA Cup weekend with more time to practice then possibly the EFL Trophy to test it.

So stick with 3-4-3,

Jensen
Mitchell, Jackson, Eyoma
Sorensen, Smith, Erhahon, Roughan
Mandroiu, Vale, Duffy.

A challenge Smith needs to step up to in that role. Any news on the recovering(?) crocks Hackett, Walker and Bishop? Any hope of seeing one or more on the bench??”

Thank you to Graham Burrell and Lincoln City Football Club for the photograph!
