Not too many Imps have become members of the twenty-goal club over the years and Simon Yeo, the last to do so is auctioning the shirt he did it in on Vital over the next couple of weeks. HERE is a link to the auction

Here in his own words are Simon`s top 3 goals from that year.

In all honesty it is so difficult to pick because everyone of them mean a lot to me, but after a lot of thinking and head loss I have finally got the three.

In third place the goal in the 1-1 draw away at Chester. I picked the ball up 20 -25 yards out and ran at the left full back and centre half dribbling through them both and shooting right foot to the right hand corner of the net to level the scores. It was a late goal to get the points and for me scoring a goal with my right foot is a dream come true because as you know I`m all left footed. To cap it all the Chester team manager was none other than the legendary IAN RUSH my boyhood hero !!!!!

Second place was a derby game against the cod heads (Grimsby) 4-2. Scoring in a derby for me was like winning the lottery (unbelievable). Mazza took a free kick in our half, which was flicked on, and it fell nicely for me on the volley 15 yards out. I smacked it home into the top of the net. That was the first of a game, which will live in my memory till I die!!! I remember the ecstasy it brought me but it was nothing compared to the joy it brought the Lincoln fans when I looked at them.

My best ever goal for the Imps was the goal that sealed my first ever football league hat-trick, plus I did it in a derby and it was against one of our rivals and I will never ever score a goal like this again especially cos it was on my right foot. Grimsby had got it back to 2-2 we kicked off (GTF) Fletch got the ball and ran down the right and crossed it I swung at the ball with my right foot, I caught it sweetly, I watched it curl in to top right hand corner that made it 3-2 I remember seeing the Imps fans going absolutely berserk – it was a fantastic moment.

I know I scored 23 that season against Boston, Scunny, Derby (Championship) even Birmingham of the Premier League all the goals I scored that season and the other 3 seasons at Lincoln are all so special and will remain in my heart till I die!!!!!

There is one man I`d like to thank for that it was Keith Alexander without him putting faith in me none of what I have achieved today would of been possible . I would like to thank him and his assistant Simmo ( gary simpson ) for giving me a chance to do what most peoples boyhood dreams are that is being a pro footballer !!!!!!!!!!!

Simon is committed to the Help For Heroes Bike Ride and has spoken on BBC Radio Lincolnshire this week as well as BBC Manchester.
