Ahead of Saturday’s match against Notts County in Sky Bet League Two, we asked our members what three things they think The Imps need to do to beat them.

Here’s what Scotimp said:

1. Field the same ten that started at Bury, injury permitting.

We scored three goals quite comfortably against a very good side, and we look more potent in attack with Rowe playing off Akinde. The only change is that Vickers should play if he is fit enough. Andrade should be no further than the bench – we have effectively scored eight in three and a half games without him, and his away performances have been ordinary.

One caveat: with a day and a half of the transfer window remaining at the time of writing (10:23 on 30th January), will there be a rabbit pulled from the Cowley hat?

2. Try to score early to exploit their obvious lack of confidence.

Never has a side looked more vulnerable. County fans say their heads go down when they concede the first goal, and they could fold very quickly – they have conceded a massive 74 goals in all competitions this season. Furthermore, they have made four or five changes to their squad this month in addition to the likes of Boldewijn trying to regain fitness. With Wee Alan Hardy’s antics this week and being put up for sale, they look a real mess. Exploit the weakness and be ruthless.

3. Ride the tidal wave of support.

Players and managers of every club pay lip service to how marvellous their support is, even if they don’t have any, but City will have 4,200 Imps behind them. If that is not enough to inspire everyone, nothing ever will.
