“We have nothing to lose.”

|

Ahead of Saturday’s match against Everton in the Third Round of The Emirates FA Cup, we asked our members what three things they think The Imps need to do to beat them.

Here’s what sedgleyimp said:

1. Keep it tight for the first twenty minutes. Reading some of their fans forums they seem to have a number of supporters who are less than impressed with the team at the moment especially after losing at home to Leicester on New Years Day. Keeping them out in the first phase of the game might lead to their players getting tense and their supporters getting on their backs. They score early and their confidence grows.

2. Spend the next couple of days practising set pieces. Realistically we will get fewer chances over this 90 minutes than most games and we need to take any chance which comes along. Free kicks and corners were the staple of the run two years ago and they represent our best chance of getting anything on Saturday.

3. Players, management, board and supporters let’s all enjoy the day. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Enjoy the day, enjoy the match and play with the kind of freedom that can bring. You never know after all it’s always 11 v 11 and anything is possible.
