“We have a squad with plenty of depth and spirit.”

Ahead of today’s match against Cambridge United, we asked our members what three things they think The Imps need to do to come away with all three points.

Here’s what Chimpimp said:

1. Lincoln need to take advantage of being better prepared than the opposition. Apparently, Colin Calderwood hadn’t even started his preparation for the game before Thursday. “I don’t know so much about Lincoln,” he said. He could have added “and I probably know less about Cambridge than the Cowleys”.

2. Make an advantage out of misfortune. A loss and a few injuries to key players may be a setback. We should view it as an opportunity for the likes of Rhead and Gordon to show we have a squad with plenty of depth and spirit.

3. Dig deep and be clinical. Cambridge are a similar team to Crewe with good ball handlers. So get on top of them, keep them under control and at arm’s length and punish them when you can. Cambridge’s League position suggests a really resolute opposition should have enough to defeat them.
