Views from syimp following the 2-2 draw away at Accrington Stanley in the Checkatrade Trophy (Stanley won 4-2 on penalties): “Thoroughly entertained, but we did exceptionally well to take them to penalties. If only Rheady had struck his in-game penalty as well as the one in the shoot-out. I see what you all mean about Mensah, the original headless chicken, game but completely ineffective. Luque, the MOTM for me, despite having played very little recently, I see great potential and get why we signed him. Gordon did well, Greeny ran his backside off as per. Ellis will learn.”

More views from the Match Thread:

JT_LCFC: “Thought it was a valiant effort given the side we had out, bringing on the first team coach and under 18 coach.”

imps_joe: “Where is Paul Mayo when you need him?

Gutted for the big man, though his penalty record is a bit shaky. As has been said that was the turning point. After we missed that and they brought on the big guns (whereas we had coaches to turn to) sounded like we struggled. Sounds as though there were some decent performances though. Not sure Danny will be too gutted about going out and nor will I.”

JT_LCFC: “I thought Chapman and Luque did OK in centre midfield first half but became overrun in the 2nd. Chapman will improve for sure, just at the minute, he’s tending to get caught out with a sloppy pass in midfield in key areas.”
