“We are a developing team with new formations, tactics and ethic.”

|

Following Saturday’s 2-0 defeat away at Peterborough United in Sky Bet League One, we asked our members what three things they learned from the match.

Here’s what StrangelyBrown said:

1. We are a developing team with new formations, tactics and ethic. Our manager is very keen to see young players develop and seems prepared to give them opportunities. Chapman was not out of place yesterday in the team although losing O’Connor exposed him to a more fluid mobile Posh midfield where he defensively struggled. Most important was his improved attacking skills and occasional willingness to get forward.

2. We are not out of place in this league but moments of quality continue to be the difference where the margins are fine and we aren’t getting those moments are regularly as the opposition.

3. League One defences, overall, continue to struggle with pace (including ours). We are not alone in this and Eardley was as plagued by Dembele as the Sunderland left-back was last week by Andrade. Doesn’t mean Eardley is not a good player (he is) but needs support when faced with pace down the wing.
