The most recent Lincoln City article in the Echo has stirred up controversy unnecessarily? maybe…

The past 2 weeks fans have been questioning is their a rift between the management duo and Wright?

It appears from this article that the two conflict with each other on statements with Deehan insisting we may have to wait another year for promotion as we don’t have the money to replace the ‘6 top earners’ that have left the club [Of the 6 top earners I have no idea who the other three are but Gritton, Mayo, Morgan?]

Deehan was also contradicting himself in the paper by saying ‘top 5 earners have left’ then changing his statement later on to ‘top 6 earners’. He also added to the article his financial concerns regarding the players having to leave due to financial reasons despite the rumoured £350k received for Jeff Hughes.

Steff Wright (Yes our chairman, the guy who fights in sumo suits for fun) said that there has been no instructions to get rid of the top earners by declaring

‘There have been no instructions to get rid of the high earners. I asked them to put together the best squad they can with a competitive budget.’

Are Dixie’s days numbered?

Many fans first thoughts were to the 80’s ‘PoshImp’ said;

‘I do not like the look of this, not one little bit. My immediate reaction is to remember the early 80s when Gilbert Blades and Colin Murphy were the two protagonists in what eventually turned out to be a very sour and sorry period in the Imps’ history.

Maybe we should call on Deehan to substantiate his claims, especially naming those ‘six players’ and what salaries they were on’

John Deehan, would you like to contact us at VitalLincoln and tell us who those 6 earners were?
