Here is the gossip for this week.

Accy thump are none too chuffed having had the shirt literally taken off their backs by Frazer Eagle. Though they will remain as stadium sponsors it has left a hole in the budget the size of a clown`s pocket.

Barnet have been stung by a Bishop transfer request and the departure of striker Thomas. One positive is the decision of Birchall to stay for a year.

Bradford have lost Scott loach. The Ex Imp centre of excellence keeper is regarded as too precious by home club Watford. Nice to hear as we have a sell on too. Season ticket sales are well on the way to last years 9,000 total. They`ll enjoy a few thrills and spills this year with Mazza in goal.

Brentford have signed Marcus Bean after Blackpool who deemed him surplus to requirements. Despite signing a pre contract with Port Vale on Tuesday, Craig Pead is still a Bee. Posh winger Adam Newton is also yet to sign despite the come and get me sound bytes. You might want to watch this saga.

Bournemouth`s John Bond is a tad perturbed after losing teenage strike sensation Sam Vokes to Wolves. With the clubs takeover still a month away everything is on hold for the Cherries. Bond is not amused.

Bury manager Alan Knill is still happy with his squad and has refused to set any targets. In fairness they only lost 4 in their last 20 games.

Chester are grinning like the proverbial. League 2`s self proclaimed big time Charlies have signed Paul Taylor from Vauxhall Motors. Nothing short of promotion will do for the 1600 faithful and the new chairman then.

Since signing Robert Page, influential midfielder Peter Leven has told Chesterfield that he wants to go to a better club, and turned down a second contract offer. Confidence is hire at L2`s other cathedral club.

Dagenham & Redbridge have completed the signing of prolific Staines Town forward Mark Nwokeji. The 26-year-old scored 33 goals for the Isthmian Premier Division club last term. Striker Jamie Taylor has meanwhile joined Grays Athletic.

Darlo have drastically cut the playing budget by 50% and released 9 players. So far the only signing is ex loanee Kennedy from Middlesborough. Has the Babylonian era come to an end?

Gillingham are playing things close to their chest, though Mark Stimpson is close to signing keeper Alan Julian from Stevenage. He is also chasing a League 1 striker.

Grimsby
No news is good news. But rest assured we will bravely stand down wind until it arrives.

It`s up and down for relegated Luton. One of the two charges involving 6 agents has been dropped. A £250,000 windfall has landed in the bank, and swallowed, courtesy of an add-on from the transfer of Leon Barnett to West Brom (as the Baggies were promoted to the Premier League). The club’s prospective buyers, LTFC 2020 Ltd, are still in discussions with them and the icing on the cake appears to be a 15 point deduction from Winnie and the gang. Who`s for a season ticket deal then?

Keith is assembling his mates, with Simon Yeo the first to sign. Futcher is likely to be next?.. no lets not get scurrilous.

Mansfield?. Oh of course they aren`t in the league any more are they. Lets move on?. which is more than they appear to be able to do.

Morecambe`s McIlroy is determined to sign four players ahead of the clubs second league campaign. Losing winger Thompson on a free to the S***** must have been a blow though.

Notts county have signed Johnson of course. An old man joins the League’s oldest club. Apt.

Port Vale have signed John McCombe from Huddersfield. This is their 6th summer signing after Anthony Griffiths, Rob Taylor, Steve Thompson, Sam Stockley and David Howland. Having shifted 5,000 season tickets they can afford it and will be one to watch. Indeed they could well be runners up to the Mighty Imps who of course have the Messiah on their side.

Rochdale fresh from their playoff failure are still playing catch-up. Midfield ace John Doolan has retired but keeper Sam Russell has signed a new deal.

Wycombe have named ex England manager Peter Taylor as their new boss. After Lambert it appears they have gone for yet another big name to fill the chairboys hot seat. Posh meanwhile have nicked right back Russell on a free.
