With former Port Vale keeper Joe Anyon out of sorts it was Sunderlands loanee that came into the breach and filled the wall up with our English dead.

His exploits between the sticks are now becoming more than a Shakespeare quote but more of a matter of intent.

He is falling in love with Lincoln and the Imps are falling in love with him. Forget the mistake on Saturday, he wont do that again, he learns by his mistakes.

He is quoted as saying, and it is revealing that he is enjoying his football at Sincil Bank: “You can`t beat playing games and I have got a taste for it again. I got a taste for it at Chesterfield a few years ago but then I didn`t play again for two years and that is not going to happen again – I need to be playing games.’

Talking about his knobbly knee episode on Saturday he was honest and open: “As silly as it sounds, I need to make mistakes in games to learn from them. You can make them all you want in training and nobody sees them, but in games you can`t be doing that.”

Adding: ‘I have signed a month`s extension, it was always going to happen, it was just a matter of getting the papers signed.”

He wants to stay and by jove he is welcome!
