Ahead of Saturday’s match at home against Sunderland in League One, I asked the Vital Lincoln City members what three things they think The Imps need to do to pick up all three points.

You can discuss what has been said in this article HERE, as well as many other topics on our 100% Imps forum! We have also published a Lincoln City v Sunderland Quiz, which can be found just below the three things. Every page view helps raise money for Lincoln City Football Club!

Here’s what Chesterimp said:

1. Be wary of a new manager. Much moaning by the Mackems about the slowness of play under Parkinson and suggestions that Johnson will look for a quicker style, maybe not so different from ours. Makes the opposition less predictable and the ability of our lads to adapt on the pitch will be tested.

2. Be confident in our own approach and go for them with it from the off, but be wary of counter-pressing and restricted space. If Sunderland do try to adopt a different style, they will be much less practiced and liable to make mistakes.

3. We have the players on the pitch and options on the bench to adapt tempo and formation to pose different challenges. It worked against Wigan and Rochdale but expect Sunderland to be more towards Portsmouth’s standard. It will be a tough test as to where we are and all the squad need to at their best.
