Ahead of today’s match against Rochdale in League One, I asked the Vital Lincoln City members what three things they think The Imps need to do to pick up all three points.

Here’s what NottyImp said:

1. Keep the confidence we have in our method and the application we have of it. This is a young team and that can be difficult to do but we have kept our heads up on this so far.

2. Improve our set-piece delivery and routines. We have players – like Montsma – who can capitalise on this. We need to develop that and choose plays that can work. Our corners have recently been quite poor in terms of delivery, so it’s difficult to see if the team have been working on set-piece tricks and tactics, especially when the ball rarely beats the first man.

Oh, and let Jorge take more free-kicks.

3. Work on committing in the box. Players sometimes need to take chances and put runs in that pick-up chances. Sometimes we seem hesitant to do this. In particular, the front 3 need to look at how they position themselves when a cross is coming in. Pressuring defenders as an attack builds can cause errors and the occasional vital tap-in from a poor save or block.
