Ahead of Saturday’s match at home against Peterborough United in League One, I asked the Vital Lincoln City members what three things they think The Imps need to do to pick up all three points.

You can discuss what has been said in this article HERE, as well as many other topics on our 100% Imps forum! We have also published a Lincoln City v Peterborough United Quiz, which can be found just below the three things. Every page view helps raise money for Lincoln City Football Club!

Here’s what Scotimp said:

1. Shackle 12-goal Jonson Clarke-Harris and close off the supply line to him. The absence of former Imp Joe Ward (6 assists this season) should help with that, although it is likely that Siriki Dembele (4 assists) will be playing despite his demand for a transfer. Clarke-Harris and Dembele have scored 18 goals between them so far and are the danger men.

2. Keep the tempo high. Peterborough have not played for 25 days and may be slow to attune to the pace of the game. Darren Ferguson says he is uncertain how his team will react to the enforced break, and is aware how quickly Lincoln move the ball through the thirds; he is clearly worried about those two aspects.

3. Retain some pace on the bench for late in the game. Because of that 25-day absence and disruption through Covid, Peterborough may lack a bit of match fitness. With Harry Anderson unavailable after his own positive test, that probably means Zack Elbouzedi and Morgan Rogers; Rogers will be an unknown quantity for Peterborough and could prove a potent weapon late on.
