Here’s what sedgleyimp said:

1. Keep up the intensity of the performance. We are in excellent form and have come through some tough games on paper with wins already this season. It could be argued that our only defeat was at the hands of the second weakest team that we have faced so far. That is the key to tomorrow’s game. Forget the Carabao win there a few weeks ago. That game will be no indication of this one. Crewe will be delighted with how they have settled back in League 1 and had an exceptionally good win at Doncaster over the weekend. That result shows they have to be respected as a good team. The result is not a foregone conclusion and if we fall below our recent standards they are the type of team to take advantage.

2. Discipline in and around the penalty area. We cannot afford to give away any free kicks close to our box. In Pickering, they have a player who is very good from dead-ball situations. Give him half a chance and he’ll punish any team.

3. Don’t overcomplicate it. Saturday’s performance was very good in a dogged keep going kind of way. At times though we played some delightful quick passing and movement which got us into a shooting or crossing position. Frequently though a further pass was sought which brought a promising attacking position to a halt. Sometimes it’s worth having a go rather than try and walk it in and that just might be the difference in some games between 1 point or all 3.
