“This was a comprehensive victory.”

After Saturday afternoons 2-0 win at Cheltenham Town in Sky Bet League Two, we asked our members what three things they learned.

Here’s what berksimps said:

1. We now have a great team ethic whereby they all fight for one another, cover for one another and encourage one another. There are no weak links, often an individual’s experience makes up for a slight lack of speed when in our own half. We gained by having less “hoof” and passing the ball to feet or deliberately into wide areas for our players to run on to.

2. We can use both wings very effectively, spread the game and using our pace in those areas to quickly turn defence into attack down either flank. The confidence on the ball particularly of Pett, Anderson, Toffolo and Andrade means they are all prepared to look, either for a forward pass or to take on the opposition players and beat them.

3. We possibly lose out by having no-one left up the pitch when the opposition have corners or free kicks. A useful role for Anderson? We were sometimes too slow getting into the box which lessened the effect of our wingers. All in all, though, this was a comprehensive victory, keep up that intensity and quite a few teams in this league will not be able to live with us.

Bring on Tranmere!
